Kim Delaney was an American actress from America. She is most famous because of her part as Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded an Emmy Award. She is also known for her performances in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney, the only child of the United Auto Workers senior executive and domestic worker was raised by four siblings. As a child, she dreamt of being a reporter for the court. However, after graduating from high school and moving into New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. Her first appearance acting was as an innocent teenager in the show All My Children. Since then, Delaney has been in a variety of TV dramas and films. Her personal life unlike her professional has not had a happy and successful. There were two failed marriages, and has struggled with addiction issues. Her custody in 2005 was confiscated from her.
